Dear Trevor, I can't tell you how much pleasure your book The Story of Hampton Cars has given me. My library contains many one make histories but none that I have enjoyed more than your slender volume, would that it was ten times the length. Andrew Fountain Redbourn, Herts.

| Dear Mr Picken, It is about the best history of a small production vintage car that I have ever seen and so nicely produced and laid out. Bill Boddy Founder Editor, Motor Sport
|
| Dear Trevor, What a marvellous book you have produced about the Hampton cars. The wealth of information contained, far more than I have encountered in similar publications, is most commendable and must have taken you an inordinate amount of time to correlate. Jack Stonhill Gloucester

| Textually this is a most
complete story of this make, which commenced before the First World War. All is revealed
in this landscape-type book with its fine dust jacket. Personnel, Hamptons in competition,
factory shots, catalogue reproductions, drawings and a section on the five existing
Hamptons are interspersed with pictorial asides, letter-heads, snapshots, old adverts and
catalogue covers in satisfying profusion. This is one of the best one-make histories of those devoted to the lesser known cars. It is beautifully produced and contains about every photograph of Hampton Cars available. Bill Boddy Motor Sport, June 1998

| Dear Trevor I must congratulate you most sincerely on the Hampton book - nobody could have done it better and if genius is an infinite capacity for taking pains - you are a genius! Every page one turns to is a joy and makes one want to read on. Bonnie would be delighted with the book as would Max Williamson. Peter Hull Newbury, Berks

| Dear Trevor Many, many congratulations on the superb Hampton book, superbly presented and very readable. Ron Gammons Baldock, Herts

| It is beautifully designed,
using many contemporary photographs, comparing literature, original correspondence and
company documents, and in many respects it is a model of its kind. Mike Worthington-Williams Editor, Classic Car Mart. Dec. 1997

| Dear Mr Picken I was delighted to receive The Story of Hampton Cars from you last week; I am hugely impressed by your research and your presentation of the Hampton story and must thank you for what I regard as one of the finest contributions to old car publishing for years. John Humphreys, Stockport, Chesire.

| Dear Trevor, Thank you so much for producing such a wonderful book. Reading through it has bought back many memories, some of which brought a tear to my eye and a lump in my throat - the Dudbridge area has a firm place in my heart. The Rev. Pat Birt Gillingham, Dorset

| It fills an important gap in
British motoring history and has been published with the assistance of the Michael
Sedgwick Trust. It is highly recommended; miss it and it will be difficult to find a copy
once the limited print run has been exhausted. The Automobile, Feb 1998 |
